I am just now starting this blogging thing and I was trying to decide on a catchy title that fit me. Being a lucky number 7 kind of girl, I have never really liked the number 3, but it seems to me that a lot of things in life come in 3s and I couldn't shake this idea of threes. For example, how many times in your life have you had a couple of things go wrong and someone says to you, "Well it comes in threes." Who made up this rule? Why 3? I wanted an answer so I did a little research and there seems to be no origin for the saying "bad things come in threes". My entire life I have thought of 3 as an unlucky number and maybe it was because of this stupid saying that has no origin?!?? So this brings up another thought...I tend to be somewhat of a rule breaker instead of a rule follower. Could it be because I have heard these unwritten rules and when I take time to research them they really have no basis? Maybe it was some idiot that had 3 bad things happen to him and so he started this saying and now subconsciously we all believe that bad things come in threes. How ridiculous is that!?! Now with that said, I don't break all rules. Rules are there for a reason and I only tend to break those that have no purpose in my life and won't hurt others when they are broken. Anyway...here's another, "3rd times a charm." Why the 3rd time? Is that just so when you totally bomb the 1st time and look like an idiot the 2nd, that you don't give up? Why do we count to 3 when we are doing something in unison? One, Two, THREE!!!
So, back to living life to the 3rd power, also known as life cubed for you mathematical people. The most important 3s in my life are the Holy Trinity...God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. Without those three I would not be set free from the bondage of sin and would not have an eternity in Heaven to look forward to, therefore this life would be pointless. Another important 3 in my life are Family, Friends, and Fitness. Family keeps me grounded and on the right path. Friends have taught me so much about life and have loved me through the ups and downs. Fitness is what keeps my physical body able to perform daily and has also taught me self-discipline, perseverance, and determination.
My goals for this blog also come in 3s: To help me better organize and track my thoughts and ideas. To give others ideas on how to be healthy in our busy world. To gain insight from readers and their comments. Until next time I wish you Health, Faith, and Love!!! Now, what are your 3s?
